In a moment of utmost disgust, I found out, that my father, that dear old precious, politically obviously totally spaced out man, voted for Berlucsoni. Since I organise his entire administration, I should punish him by taking a few hundred bucks out of his account and put it in the Veltroni war-chest.
But I won’t, because I am a honest man and even if my father voted for that black-shirted ass-grabbing billionaire, he is still my father and I will have to stay on speaking terms with the old, silly, sweet little man.
So he tells me, that 70% of Sicily voted for B. because he is supposedly the one who is going to get the Mafia sorted out. Just like the other black-shirted B. (M.), 70 years ago. This I can’t put in its right place yet, because I thought that B. and the M. were two hands on one and the same belly.
Confusing, what? This IS a crash course in Italian politics; guaranteed to obliterate any understanding you thought you might have about that country.
I do know that Italy and the Italians are sick of the Mafia’s, the Cosa Nostra’s, the Comorra’s and what nots – in all their guises – and that therefore, the Italians will vote for any Tom, Dick or Harry who promises to put them out of business. Well, that would be a fine thing indeed, and commendable at that. I will even RE-consider not going to Italy for as long as Black-Shirted B. is in power, IF the mafia is taken out. I wish him all the luck in the world for that.
