I already knew that G8 summits were nothing to be proud of. One of the attendees, our dictator of the day, George Bush, president of the largest congregation of mislead constituents the planet momentarily harbours, had just the kind of good-bye joke that reveals the extent of his wickedness.
If you want to know what he thinks about the state of our planet and the necessity to stop global warming, well, look here: He thinks he is the biggest polluter of the world, and apparently, he’s loving it.
However, Bush is wrong again, because, as cynical as it might be for being proud of such a feat, China overtakes the USA with ease when it comes to being the number one Planetary Pollution Pig. Tough luck, mister Bush. Even in his evil desire to make history as one of the most callous and devastating [to the environment] rulers mankind has even known, pouring the nations precious resources into futile wars overseas while many USA citizens are living under the poverty line, he is even screwing that up. Well, if anything is HIS hallmark, then it is screwing things up.
As I understand it, in the USA a human life costs 6,9 million Dollars (= 4,3 million Euro), and if a policy doesn’t pay off enough in relation to its costs, it’s not implemented. So if one traffic casualty is prevented by a 7 million dollar policy, it’s no deal. Do they actually calculate with these figures when they assess the Iraqi war progress? That oil must be worth a lot to them.
I think it was Einstein who said that “the stone age did not end because we were out of stones..” It is about time that the Americans got this message too. But then in relation to oil, of course.
My position is clear enough: we must turn this global warming around or we will perish, way before any other nastiness can happen to us. Like some planetoid making a bowling strike on our surface, to name just one example. Even mild prognoses concerning the state of our biosphere predict that severe and disastrous effects will be manifest within our grand children’s lifetime. And what’s more: there is no place to hide.
Happy? Bush might be. He even thinks all this is funny and material to make jokes about, making other nation leaders drop their jaws in disgust. But as I said: he is Wicked.
